Carl's journey takes him across the fictional U.S. state of San Andreas, which is heavily based on California and Nevada and encompasses three major cities: Los Santos (inspired by Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas).
The GTA IPA Definitive Edition launch was perhaps the most broken remaster in recent history. Things looked and worked so bad that it was considered almost unplayable. It was quite surprising that Rockstar put out a product like that, given the studio's eye for perfection and polish.
